Important Information

Welcome to our parents’ page. Whilst our nursery is full of fun, play and learning, we also need to give you some important information so this parents’ area is designed to tell you everything you need to know.

Our aim is to provide a friendly and efficient nursery for parents and carers who wish to seek a stimulating atmosphere and caring environment for their children. We hope that the following “Notes for Guidance” are of assistance to you in understanding the way our nursery operates, and would appreciate your co-operation, whenever possible, to the requests made.

Age of Admittance - The Wendy House caters for children from birth to 5 years. In cases where a child is not toilet trained, disposable nappies and wet wipes will need to be provided by you for use during your child’s nursery hours, but please do not worry should you forget these or run out, as an emergency supply is kept at The Wendy House. Toilet training will be undertaken as part of our daily routine.

Hours of Opening - We are open Monday to Friday, from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., with full day care available within these hours. The morning session runs from 8.00 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. and the afternoon session is 1.15 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The nursery is open all year except for approximately one week at Christmas (dependent upon which day Christmas Day falls).

Funded Hours - We are able to claim the free funded hours (15-30) under the LEA Funding Scheme on behalf of eligible two, three and four year old children attending the nursery. The LEA funded hours will apply to your child’s fees the term after they reach three years of age or 2 years of age if the 2 year old funded hours applies.

Payment of Fees - Fees are payable monthly in advance. The nursery is closed for Bank Holidays and approx.1 week at Christmas.  Bank Holidays are charged for in full for both full and part-time children. We currently ask parents if they would be prepared to make a voluntary contribution of £10 per family twice a year (January & July) towards an equipment purchasing scheme.

Absences & Sickness - We need to be notified as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend the nursery for whatever reason. A child should not attend the nursery if suffering from any of the following:- a doubtful rash; sore throat and/or discharge from the eyes or nose; diarrhoea and/or sickness. There is a 48 hour exclusion period. In order to facilitate the best of care for the children in our nursery, it is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE to advise us of any allergy or medical condition upon registration of your child.

Holidays - It would be much appreciated if you could advise the nursery as soon as possible of any dates your child will be absent from the nursery due to holidays.

Administration Fee & Cancellations - An administration fee of £50.00 is payable upon reservation of a place at the nursery for your child, and is non refundable. One calendar month’s notice is required for any reduction to the days or sessions that your child attends or for cancellation of your child’s place.

Policies & Procedures - We have a number of policies and procedures in place on the notice board in the Entrance Hall. Please take the time to read through these, there is much valuable information to be gained from them. A copy of any policy is available on request.

Safeguarding Children - For safety reasons, children will not be released to any person other than a known parent/carer, unless we have been advised otherwise beforehand and the relevant safeguarding procedures have been followed:
